What does Ingeneers Network Australia do?
Ingeneers Network Australia puts you in touch with other engineers so that you and other engineers can draw upon the country’s total pool of knowledge. Take a look at the ‘About us’ page.
How do I actually connect and network with other engineers?
Once you become a full member you are able to search the database of other members. You can look for someone with the skills that can help you. Once you find them, you send them a message to see if they have time to meet. If so, then you meet up and talk about your problem.
How will being a member help my career?
Simply being a member won't. As was mentioned in the ‘About us’ page and the ‘Welcome’ page the key to a successful career is in networking. Ingeneers Network Australia gives you the best chance to create such a network. You still need to connect with others. You can do this by being contacted or contacting others. In either case you still need to use network skills. Look at the first blog on ‘Networking’ for advice on how to do this most effectively.
Who set Ingeneers Network Australia up and why?
Ingeneers Network Australia was set up by Clint Steele. He did this after being involved in other engineering organisations, but realising that their focus on networking was minor. Ingeneers Network Australia was set up specifically to encourage interaction amongst Australian engineers, raise the standard of engineering in Australia and improve the perception of engineering in the Australian community.
Is this just another Facebook, Myspace or Linked in?
Not really. It is a network, but it is meant specifically for engineers and related professionals to connect with each other. The layout is simple, and it is designed to quickly convey contact information of fellow engineers who can help you. It will take up a small fraction of your time, but it will give access to the best resource to make you an effective and well connected engineer.
Why is it ‘Ingeneers’ Network and not ‘Engineers’ Network?
This is to distinguish the ingenious engineers, those who use their knowledge of the laws of nature to find innovative solutions to the problems encountered by society, from those who also sometimes take the title ‘engineer’, but do not explicitly use the same level of ingenuity. Take a look at the about page after you join for more details.

Is this solely for a particular type of Engineer?
